J20 White Blend & Dinner In The Sky!

I think I need to get used to heights given that I was up on the London Eye yesterday and what happened earlier this afternoon…

Today sees the launch of J2O’s new ‘White Blend’ drinks which are based around grapes so they’re a lot less heavy and sweet than their existing range and, instead, are designed to compliment food. That’s what found me in an incredibly scary position today – to be precise, strapped into a seat at a dining platform swinging slowly 30 metres up suspended from a crane. All of this so that Simon Rimmer, the celebrity chef from the BBC’s ‘Something For The Weekend‘, could serve two dishes to the assembled bloggers which had been prepared to show how the new White Grape and Kiwi, and Red Grape and Blackcurrant drinks work really well with food! Although they were really lovely – an italian salad with roasted peppers and bread in a powerful dressing, and a venison sausage complimented by a mustard mash – it was all I could do to ignore the terrifying drop to the carpark below to raise a fork to my mouth, never mind make polite conversation. And some people pay to have this experience… dinnerinthesky.com appear to do a roaring trade!

From J20 Launch @ Dinner In The Sky May 2010

Anyway, for those of you enjoying a meal in a far more traditional setting, the new White Blend of J20 drinks certainly seem to be a good fit when it comes to food as far as I can tell.
