David Bailey Comes to Newham With ‘Bailey’s East End’

A new exhibition of photographer David Bailey’s work will be coming to Newham from 6 July to 5 August.

Entitled ‘Bailey’s East End’ the show will feature photographs taken in the area during Bailey’s 50 year career, who grew up in East Ham. The venue for the exhibition will be Compressor House on Dockside Rd just need to the Royal Albert DLR station. If you’re a resident of the borough you’ll be able to get in for free, not a bad deal – regular priced tickets will be £6. As well as the photography there will also be Q & A sessions with David Bailey, as well as some associated events.

Talking about his work, Bailey said that “London’s East End is in my DNA and I’m thrilled to be able to return to my roots in Newham. The Olympics are helping to transform the borough and I’m delighted to be playing a special part in its transformation. Go East young man!”
