GOD/HEAD @ the Oval House Theatre

From 21 February to 10 March a new theatre piece from award-winning playwright Chris Goode, ‘GOD/HEAD‘ is coming to the intimate surroundings of the ‘upstairs theatre’ at the Oval House Theatre in Kennington. In the past Goode has been responsible for works such as King Pelican (which was nominated for a TMA Award for Best New Play in 2009) and highly experimental works such as Hey Mathew (2008), and the stunning Glass House installation at the Royal Opera House in 2009. Here’s what he has to say about the new show:

“So there’s this writer…Thirtysomething, gay, lefty metropolitan writer. Atheist, obviously. History of mental health problems, but those are all in the past. Sure of himself and his world view. Comfortable in his assumptions. And then one day, suddenly, without any warning…There’s God.”

Exploring ideas around the existence of God and the tensions between religious thought and neuoroscience, I’m sure that this will be a interesting and no doubt controversial new show from Chris Goode. You can pick up tickets from the Oval House Theatre website here, and I’ll be putting up a review after I’ve seen the show later this week – watch this space.
