HP brings Tron Legacy to the Southbank

Tonight I had a very chilly experience standing on top of the Queen Elizabeth Hall, part of London’s Southbank complex, to watch a sound and light show dedicated to the upcoming Tron Legacy film. It was very eerie, with the thumping soundtrack and moving images. Check out a few of the shots!

Downstairs there was a recreation of Flynn’s arcade, a scale model of a lightcycle from the new film, and some copies of Tron: Evolution, the new tie-in video game, to play on some XBox 360 consoles. In addition to that, HP were showing off their new HP Photosmart eStation printers, which are controlled by matching 7″ Android tablets. They’re great – I played around with one for a while and the tablet operated very smoothly without any jittering, and video playback and photo viewing were second to none. I’d grab one tomorrow if it wasn’t for the slightly sub £400 price tag for the printer and tablet combined – Santa, are you listening?

The event runs up to and including tomorrow evening (Thursday 2 December) so if you want a bit more of Tron before the movie’s release in December, get yourself down there.
