I just wanted to share the new video from Esben and The Witch, the Brighton-based three piece consisting of vocalist Rachel alongside musicians Daniel and Thomas, ‘Marching Song’.
Their music is deeply dark and very, very powerful, and listening to this new song it makes me wonder whether you can be possessed by the spirit of someone else while they are still alive – it’s no insult to say that if Siouxsie and the Banshees were still writing new material, Esben and The Witch are exactly what they would sound like. Look at the video too – an absolute work of genius which is a perfect match for the savage menace present in the music and lyrics. They are going to be touring the States shortly but apparently a small London gig is in the offing for later in the autumn – I definitely intend to be there. I might even break out the eyeliner and old goth gear
