This Thursday night, 13 June, Tilt, the London organisation that promotes spoken word performance, is hosting the first of two ‘London Liming‘ nights at Rich Mix in Shoreditch.
Starting at 8pm, the evening takes its name from the Trinidadian slang ‘liming’, which means to hang out with your friends.
Amongst the artists appearing at this free night will be Soweto Kinch, the MOBO award-winning jazz saxophonist and rapper, and poets Patience Agbabi and Mark Gwynne Jones.
Alongside the performances there will be DJs and drink, so the evening will be an ideal opportunity to explore the Rich Mix venue if you’ve not been over there. Another good reason to visit is the Instant Exposure exhibition in the the lower gallery, which features a display of Polaroids by Cyrus Mahboubian plus those of visitors. Oh and they also serve the best ice cream in the world, Movenpick, in their post-industrial cafe space too…
If you miss this one there’s another ‘London Liming’ on Thursday 10 October which will involve the founding members of Chill Pill and the Roundhouse Poetry Collective.
