At a loose end tomorrow night and, more importantly, single? The new London dating site with a difference, Doing Something , have teamed up with Time Out to offer a unique experience on the EDF Energy London Eye – given the moniker the Wheel Of Date, each of the 32 capsules will put a group of singletons together for a whole range of experiences through a single turn of the iconic London landmark. You won’t know until you arrive whether you’ll be making origami, having a crack at the last hits in the Lucky Voice karaoke capsule, taking part in a Silent Disco or getting a one-off movie treat from Future Cinema.
The event takes place tomorrow evening, Thursday 28 February, at 7:30pm. Tickets for the Wheel Of Date are £29, and include a free three-month membership of DoingSomething, so if you do click with someone in your particular capsule you’ll be able to keep in touch through the site (if you don’t actually swap numbers that is!). There will also be an after-show party at the popular Old Vic Tunnels venue for those who want to party into the night.
I’m very pleased to be able to tell you that I have a free pair of male tickets available for tomorrow night’s extravaganza. All you have to do to be in with a chance to win is to just tweet this post with the hashtag #wheelofdate and adding my Twitter handle @thelondoneer and @doingsome_thing – I’ll pick a random winner from the retweeters late tonight and drop you a line to let you know if you’ve won!
DoingSomething is the latest dating craze to hit London – rather than leaving people to their own devices DoingSomething organise events for their 15,000 members, so even if you don’t meet someone that interests you at one of their events at least you can say that you’ve had a good night out! In the past they’ve put together group Boris bike rides, visits to art galleries and even ping pong tournaments! As well as their site, you can also check them out on Facebook and Twitter.
