The 2013 Spring Season @ The St. James Theatre Studio

Alongside the ground-breaking productions in their fresh new theatre space, the St. James Theatre will be continuing to develop the programme for their Studio during 2013.

This intimate area of the theatre will be running an eclectic programme of events throughout January and February this year. Saturday and Sunday evenings are given over to cabaret, with performances on 12 January from Sophie Walsh-Harrington on The Damsel In Shining armor, a coterie of accomplished vocalists will lead a tribute to Burt Bacarach on 19 January with ‘Bacarach: Of Life & Lovesong, while on the 24th Lush Life: A Cabaret About Drinking will celebrate mother’s ruin, moonshine and margheritas.

A new theme is being introduced on Wednesdays with an changing line-up of drama, music and comedy to complement the St. James Theatre Studio’s regular nights  - on 9 January Laurence Fox will perform Vin’s Night In! and 16 January and 13 February will feature topical stand-up comedy and interviews as part of The Political Party With Matt Forde, with special guest George Galloway in January and Nigel Farage in February. Also appearing as part of the Wednesday night programme, Rosabella Gregory, the British singer-songwriter, will be bringing her film-themed songs to the Studio’s stage.

st james theatre studio spring 2013 londonThe Thursday comedy nights kick off this week with David Mills and Mae Martin, where David will pefrom his new show, David Mills: The Gospel Truth.  Later in the month, on 31 January, well-known comedian Sara Pascoe will reprise her Edinburgh show, supported by Tania Edwards.

Fridays at the St. James Theatre Studio focuses on jazz with Dorian Ford compering Jazz and Roots Fridays every week. Alex Garnett’s Jazz Ambassadors feature on 18 January, John Etheridge and his Blue Spirits Trio will be entertaining on Friday 25 January, with the Byron Wallen Quarter bringing in February on the 1st.
