Assembly – Peter Burke’s Strange Sculptures On The Woolwich Riverside

January 6, 2013 By Pete Stean

Down on the Thames riverside past the new developments at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich is one of London’s strangest collections of sculpture – ‘Assembly’, a group of 18 figures made from cast iron by ex-engineer and sculptor Peter Burke.

I find the group of statues rather eerie, their hollow forms standing there as if frozen in time. What do you think?
