One of the artists currently vying for a Christmas number one in the UK charts is Muhammad Shahid Nazir – known as the ‘1 pound fish man‘, Nazir is a fishmonger who plies his trade at Queen’s Market in Upton Park, just down the street from West Ham football club. Originally from Pattoki, a small town near Lahore in Pakistan, Nazir has only been in the UK for year but is already becoming a pop sensation, despite not having impressed the X-Factor judges during the 2012 competition. To date his video has racked up over 6 million views on YouTube.
