Opening the second window on my London Advent Calendar we discover the National Army Museum .
Rather overlooked due to its bigger brothers at Greenwich, Lambeth North and Hendon, the National Army Museum can be found next to the Royal Hospital Chelsea (where the Chelsea Pensioners hang out). The museum celebrates the achievements and commiserates the losses of our boys in khaki and olive green during wartime, and also takes a serious look at the peace-keeping efforts of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
If I could pick out two favourite areas of the National Army Museum it would be the corridor dedicated to ‘National Service’ and the  temporary ‘War Horse’ gallery. You can read all about my impressions of the place in my post from January 2012.
