For the twentieth window to open on my London Advent Calendar, we go up on Shooters Hill in South London to look at one of the oddest monuments ever constructed in the city – Severn Droog Castle.
Built in memory of Sir William James, a captain of the East India Company, it’s a very strange addition to the skyline. A group of local people are currently working to get it restored so that it can be opened to the general public at some point in the future.
Read all about the strange tale of Severn Droog Castle here on the Londoneer.
