For the fourth window to open on my London Advent Calendar we head out along the North Circular to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden.
The largest Hindu temple outside India, it is dedicated to the 19th century Swaminarayan, who devotees believe to be an avatar of the ‘supreme being’. This breathtaking edifice is made of Italian marble and Bulgarian limestone and if you visit, expect to be greeted with a smile because everyone of every faith, or indeed none at all, is welcome to visit this amazing sacred space.
You can read about my trip to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in February of this year here on the Londoneer.
