Google+ is becoming an increasingly useful social network for photographers who want to share their work – for me, most of the people that I follow are photographers and they provide the most engagement and comment on the material that I upload.
Several major cities around the world have established official groups on Google+ that organise photowalks – open to photographers of all levels of ability, these events are a great way to meet and interact with other photographers. Earlier today I joined the official Photowalks London group for the first time as they ventured out into a very wet Camden Town.
Here are some of my best images from the day – you can find other participants’ contributions in the official event page on Google+ here.
Members of the Photowalks London group usually get together at least monthly, come rain or shine, and over the last twelve months they have visited areas as diverse as Battersea and Brompton Cemetery and they’ve also gone on a quest to find the Olympic Bridges. Some of the walks through the year have also been themed around the Monopoly Board which has entailed members of the group visiting stations and streets that you’ll find in the game.
If you add Photowalks London to one of your ‘circles’ on Google+ you’ll receive invitations automatically when new events are planned. It would be great to see you!
