On the weekend of 15 and 16 September the Brick Lane Music Festival will be taking over three of the area’s most popular venues – the Big Chill Bar, Vibe Bar and Cafe 1001 will be involved in two days of musical mayhem featuring live bands, DJs and beatboxers.
- Cafe 1001 will have music from the Red Bull Music Academy’s graduate Om Unit, Kutmah and Drum n Bass from Ray Keith as well as some swing dancers!
- The Vibe Bar‘s offering includes a set from David Rodigan MBE’s Ram Jam, The Magic House Experience, Rose Windross and Rattus Rattus from the Urban Nerds, plus many more acts.
- The Big Chill Bar will have a DJ line-up on Saturday with sets from lots of big names including Kiss Fm’s DJ MK, Mr Wonderful and Livin Proof’s DJs Rags and Khalil, while on Sunday the bar’s resident DJs will be taking over.
Entry to the all of the venues involved in the Brick Lane Music Festival is entirely free of charge, but given the popularity of this annual event they are issuing wrist bands to guarantee entry. You can pick these up before the festival at all of the venues, which does involve a small charity donation to the NSPCC. If you fancy trying your luck you can also pick them up on the day, but this will be strictly on a first-come-first-served basis.
