I recently took part in a photographic competition themed around the area where I work, SW1, ‘Sharp Eye 2011‘. Organised by the local Victoria Business Improvement District, the competition asked people to send in images that depicted various aspects of the Victoria area.
While my entry didn’t get selected as one of the finalists I thought it was rather fun – a rather lonely nuclear protester outside the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills at 1 Victoria St. The winning entry was of a group of workmen resting by amateur photographer Katharyn Boudet, taken on her daily trip into SW1 for work. You can see all of the entries at the competition’s Flickr group here, and until January they are also on display in the windows of Kingsway House on Victoria St, in the lobby of the Westminster City Council building further up the St and in the Library next door.
