London’s Christmas Lights For 2011

London Sights

Earlier in the week I did a quick whistle-stop tour of Oxford St’s festive lighting.

As you’ll see from the album, the big department stores put in a lot of effort this year, although Selfridge’s energies seemed to be concentrated in their window displays, some of which are truly amazing.

Carnaby Street has a new display every year and I rather enjoyed last year’s take on space travel, but this year they’ve tried for something a bit more traditional, although admittedly on a massive scale. I didn’t actually witness any kissing, but the bunch of mistletoe below must be the biggest ever constructed, with each of the glass berries over a foot across!
