Views Over London With Jason Hawkes & The Amazing Nokia N8

Now as you know I’m a bit of a fan of ‘free and open’ when it comes to all things computing, which I sometimes regret because it means that I have to carry my camera equipment around on the off-chance that something interesting might catch my eye. This is due to the fact that the camera on my HTC Desire Android phone is truly awful! Admittedly the iPhone’s camera is a lot better but the much talked about camera on the Nokia N8 puts both of them well in the shade. Many people are saying that it’s the best camera ever to grace the back of a mobile phone.

Nokia have been running a campaign recently to show exactly how fantastic the N8 camera is, with aerial fly-bys of some of some of the UK’s most celebrated scenery. Check out the super high-resolution images of London taken by Jason Hawkes, the award-winning aerial photographer, below. Stunning I’m sure you’ll agree! The pictures here are just small versions of the full-size pictures if you want to investigate further, but only click on them if you have a reasonably fast internet connection because they’re about 5MB a piece, due to the fact that the N8 has a Karl Zeiss lens coupled with a sensor resolution of over 12 megapixels! I’d definitely switch if it wasn’t for my Android apps…
