Readers, I am really excited to announce the start of an exclusive competition which I am running in conjunction with TalkTalk, the broadband and home phone company, to provide £250 worth of vouchers to three lucky winners! In addition to offering prizes for this competition, TalkTalk are also offering a discount for new customers who come to them via my blog, so if you’re thinking about switching your provider or are moving and looking to sign up with them, just let me know and I’ll send you the details! You can also keep an eye on what TalkTalk are up to on their blog, and of course follow them on Twitter.
So, on to the competition then, which is focused on one of my passions, photography. All you need to do to enter is to take a photograph that fits into the broad theme of ‘communication’ – so if there’s an odd phonebox still lurking at the end of your street, a newspaper vendor at your local station that always has an enigmatic smile for his customers, or if you’ve just managed to snap two people having a rather animated conversation in the street, I want to see it!
Entries will be judged on their composition rather than on technical excellence, so I want you to feel free to snap away with the camera on your mobile phone. Don’t think that you have to go to elaborate lengths with an expensive SLR camera, unless you absolutely insist of course!. When you’ve taken your photograph just upload it to the special Flickr group which I have set up for the competition here.
The photograph judged to be the best will win £150 of vouchers from a popular online store, with two prizes of £50 each going to two runners up. Some photographer friends will be helping me with the judging process, which will take place on 1 February, so please ensure that you get your entries in by midnight on 31 January 2011 to be in with a chance to win. Only one entry per person please, and due to the nature of the prize I’m afraid it will only be open to UK residents.
I want to give as many people as possible a chance to take part in this competition so can I ask you to make use of the buttons at the bottom of this post to publish details to your Facebook wall, retweet it, or to email your friends about it please – the more entries the better. Thanks again to TalkTalk for sponsoring this competition, and good luck!
