Specifically Casa Alianza, which works with kids living on the street in Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Honduras to improve their lives.
The reason I mention this charity is that they held a benefit gig earlier this evening at Birmingham Town Hall which I was lucky enough to attend, and which was headlined by the incomparable Suzanne Vega. Suzanne treated us to a wonderful set, in an appropriately spectacular setting, as the Town Hall is breathtaking these days as it underwent a very sympathetic refurb a few years ago.
This is a short post, frankly because I’m exhausted, having just returned to our hotel which is right behind the venue, but check out the charity, and if you’re so inclined I discovered today that Suzanne is using Twitter, and posts herself. Just follow ‘SuzyV‘ for updates, or you can check out her official website for more info. In fact, there’s a very rare 1985 recording of ‘Luka’ available to download for free on there right now. Night all!
